Church Fete

On June 6th, after two years absence, St Michael’s held its traditional Church Fete.  Unfortunately, the weather was unkind and instead of having the churchyard filled with stalls and games, plans had to be changed and everything set up inside the church.

The atmosphere was enlivened by live music from The Reel Deal, Ukes at the Butt, and our own handbell ringers.

The public crowded in to buy cakes, toiletries, handmade jewellery and candles, and tried their luck at tombolas for bottles, soft toys and wine.

We were helped by the young people from Seeds4Success who also sold their handmade wooden articles.

Cream teas were served in the Grove Building and despite the rain, the day was a great success.
