Royal School of Music Organ Challenge

A lovely coincidence meant that the beautiful pipe organ in St Michael’s was played as part of the Royal School of Church Music’s challenge to have as many organs as possible performing Handel’s Largo simultaneously on Saturday, 22nd November. The organist was Margaret Green from Frome, who had recently visited St Michael’s and left a note in the visitors’ book saying how much she admired the organ and would love to play it. Churchwarden Kit Stallard spotted her comment, contacted her, and invited her to return. As a result, Margaret was able to take part in the RSCM event at 2pm, joining churches across the country in playing Largo on their organs.
